Tires for Medium Duty Trucks are not available at many tire shops. We carry a large selection of 16", 17.5" and the common 19.5" tire sizes. As tire prices continue to increase On The Spot has great deals on 12 and 14 ply tires that won't break the bank. We know which tires work for your truck. The two common 19.5" sizes are: 225/70R 19.5 and 245/70R 19.5. The 245 is quite a bit larger so make sure you have the correct size when inquiring about prices.
Many companies run a Steer tire up front and Traction tires in the rear. This offers the best road grip and handling during the winter. Never install a Traction or Open Shoulder Tire on the Front as it will usually wear out very quickly. The exception would be a 4WD vehicle.
Open Shoulder vs. Closed Shoulder
Traction tires are offered in two varieties, open shoulder and closed shoulder. The open shoulder design has individual lugs on the edges of the tire. They offer the most traction but are prone to wearing quicker then the closed shoulder which has a continuous block of tread running around the entire edges of the tire.
